Peer Review
Jurnal Komputasi is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific quality and publication ethics through a rigorous and transparent peer-review process. Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes a comprehensive evaluation to ensure its originality, scientific contribution, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
The journal implements a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. This approach ensures an objective, fair, and unbiased assessment of each manuscript.
The peer-review process consists of the following stages:
1. Initial Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the online journal system. The manuscript must comply with the journal's author guidelines, formatting requirements, and ethical standards.
2. Editorial Screening
The Editor-in-Chief or Handling Editor conducts an initial evaluation to determine whether the manuscript:
- Falls within the focus and scope of the journal;
- Meets the journal's formatting and submission requirements;
- Demonstrates sufficient scientific quality and originality;
- Complies with publication ethics and plagiarism policies.
Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected without external review.
3. Similarity Check
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure the originality of the work. Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical practices will be rejected.
4. Double-Blind Peer Review
Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:
- Originality and novelty of the research;
- Scientific significance and contribution;
- Methodological rigor and validity;
- Clarity of presentation and organization;
- Adequacy of references and literature review;
- Quality of data analysis and interpretation;
- Relevance to the journal's scope.
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
5. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission
- Revisions Required
- Resubmit for Review
- Decline Submission
The final decision regarding publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief.
6. Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' comments and submit a revised version along with a response letter explaining how each comment has been addressed.
Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.
7. Final Acceptance and Publication
Once the manuscript has satisfactorily addressed all comments and meets the journal's quality standards, it is formally accepted for publication and proceeds to copyediting, proofreading, and online publication.
Publication Ethics and Confidentiality
All manuscripts received by Jurnal Komputasi are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information regarding submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and publisher when appropriate.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Conduct reviews objectively and fairly;
- Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript;
- Declare any potential conflicts of interest;
- Provide constructive and timely feedback;
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
Authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
